Some people collect bottle caps. I collect hubcaps…and bumpers. Each “piece” in this legally ambiguous collection was spotted on or around Fifth Avenue, just off of Duquesne’s campus. My rule of thumb would be to leave each find for a day or so, to make sure the rightful owner didn’t wish to come by and reclaim their own souvenir. One of the hubcaps, however, was found among the dead reeds and detritus of the hill below Brottier Hall. To obtain it, I had a friend boost me up on to the retaining wall so I could climb the slope and procure my new treasure. Just goes to show that with teamwork, anything really is possible.
